YOUR BUSINESS. OUR FOCUS.

UpSure Food & Agribusiness

For the businesses behind what we eat.

From production and processing to storage and delivery, let's understand the people, products and dependencies behind your business.

Scope confirmed for your activities, products and locations.

Follow the product

Review sources, processing, storage and distribution together.

Think beyond the premises

Include transit, temperature control and supplier dependencies.

Prepare for an incident

Discuss traceability, recall arrangements and claims support.

A CLEARER STARTING POINT

Fresh thinking about a connected supply chain.

A grower, processor, branded food business and distributor have different responsibilities. Tell us where you sit in the chain, what you handle and how a problem could affect customers or production.

  • Food producers
  • Processors & packers
  • Branded food businesses
  • Agribusiness suppliers

KNOW THE BATCH. KNOW THE RESPONSE.

Preparation matters before a recall happens.

Insurance and recall readiness serve different purposes. Traceability, clear responsibilities and a usable recall plan help the business act quickly; policy terms determine which costs may be covered.

  • Map batch records, ingredients and distribution destinations.
  • Discuss maximum stock accumulations and seasonal changes.
  • Review recall costs separately from injury or damage claims.

LET'S MAKE IT SIMPLE

A short brief.
A real conversation.

Tell us what you do, what is changing and when you need cover. We will explain the next step and what else we need.

Start your enquiry

A few useful things to have ready

  • Products, ingredients, processes and sales territories
  • Sites, equipment, peak stock and storage conditions
  • Quality assurance, traceability and recall plans
  • Supplier contracts, current cover and incident history

Complex quotes require an engagement letter before detailed broking work begins. Here is how that works.

GOOD QUESTIONS

A little clarity
before you start.

Something else on your mind?
Ask our team

Does products liability pay for a food recall?

Not automatically. Liability for injury or damage and the costs of withdrawing, replacing or destroying your own product are separate questions. Recall and contamination cover needs specific review, including the events that trigger it.

Does insurance replace a recall plan?

No. FSANZ explains that food manufacturers, wholesalers and importers need a written recall plan. Insurance does not replace food safety, traceability or regulatory responsibilities. We can discuss the insurance alongside your existing procedures.

Are crop yields, livestock and weather losses included?

Not by default. Farm, crop and livestock exposures can need specialist arrangements and may not be available for every risk. Describe your operation so we can confirm the scope and avoid treating a general business policy as a complete farm program.

What about products kept in cold storage?

Tell us the locations, values, monitoring and backup arrangements, including outsourced facilities. Temperature change, machinery breakdown and transit can each have different triggers and exclusions.

What happens after I enquire?

Our team reviews your activities and the scope of the work before approaching insurers. These enquiries are broker-led, not automatic quotes. For complex placements, we agree an engagement letter before detailed broking work begins. Making an enquiry does not start cover.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Let's talk about your business, from source to customer.

General information only. This does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. Availability and cover depend on underwriting acceptance and the policy terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and excesses. An enquiry is not confirmation of cover. Read the relevant policy documents and our Financial Services Guide.
